With the Maternal Mortality Rates at an all-time high, our communities need more well-trained and passionate black birth workers to offer a wealth of knowledge and support, to effectively help birthing families navigate the biased health care system.  The International Black Doula Training is an independent Doula Training Organization in Baltimore, Maryland. We've trained over 150+ doulas, nurses, and Ob/Gyn health professionals. Our robust curriculum is unique and geared towards addressing the disparities of black birthing people. Our doula training program offers Pregnancy & Childbirth Doula Training, Postpartum Doula Training, Placenta Encapsulation Training, Bengkung Belly Binding Training, Doula Business Courses, Mentorship, and Continuing Education.

Curriculum & Requirements

We've trained over 150+ doulas, nurses, social workers, and holistic practitioners. Our training curriculum is a combination of medical and holistic education and information relevant to reproductive health, pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. You have the option to register for an individual doula training or for an All-Inclusive Doula Retreat which includes a total of 5 trainings. Virtual Options are available for Fertility Doula Training ONLY. 

Fertility Doula Course

This 8 hour Course will teach about:

Fertility Doula Certification Process

*Students that pass the exam will receive a “Temporary” Certified Doula Certification that will remain valid for two years until all requirements are completed. If requirements are not met within the two-year time frame, you will have to pay for the course again and complete steps 1-4*.

This 12 hour course will teach about:

The International Black Doula Training is an advocate for continuing education to ensure doulas and birth workers remain proficient in the field of Maternal-Infant Health. We offer Childbirth Education, Doula Charting, Ob/Gyn Medical Terminology, and Home Birth Doula Training. Students anticipating enrollment in our doula certification program and staying certified with us will be required to complete continuing education courses.

This 3.5 hour course will teach about
